Building the Brand Before the Building is Finished

We love a bit of large-format print – especially when it turns something purely practical into a great branding opportunity.

It was great to work with the team at Abodus Student Living to produce B1 fire-rated Heras fence banners for their latest PBSA development in Glasgow.

Like most construction sites, there’s a lot happening behind the fencing – but from the outside, standard Heras panels aren't exactly the most exciting thing to look at!

That’s where printed Heras banners come in.

We took the Abodus branding and produced large-format graphics designed specifically to fit the fencing surrounding the development. Suddenly, what was simply there to secure the site became a huge canvas for the brand.

And with a student accommodation development, that visibility can be incredibly valuable.

Long before the doors open and the first students arrive, the building is already attracting attention. Branded fencing gives developers and operators an opportunity to start telling people what’s coming, build awareness and create a professional-looking site while construction is still underway.

For this project, the specification was important too.

We produced the banners using B1 fire-rated material, giving the Abodus team a product suitable for the requirements of the site while still delivering the strong colours and print quality we wanted from the finished graphics.

Heras fence banners are also designed with outdoor environments in mind. They need to cope with the British weather, remain securely fitted and continue looking good throughout the build.

We really enjoyed getting these produced and out to Glasgow for the Abodus team.

It’s another example of how print can make use of a space that would otherwise be completely overlooked.

The building might not be finished yet – but there’s no reason the branding has to wait.
